The program titled “Safalta ki Silaayi: Skill Development for Self-Reliance” aims to empower marginalised women and girls in the Sarisab Pahi community through a 2-month tailoring training initiative. The objectives include providing individuals with tailoring skills, fostering self-sufficiency, and enhancing employability. The methodology involves selecting suitable candidates, comprehensive curriculum design, experienced trainers, hands-on practical training, and certification upon completion. The estimated budget of INR 17,500 covers expenses such as trainers’ salaries, sewing machines, materials, and promotional materials. Anticipated impacts include 5 individuals completing the program, income generation through tailoring, potential small business startups, and increased empowerment. Sustainability plans involve partnerships with local entities for continued support. This initiative seeks to empower participants with valuable skills, enabling them to contribute to their community’s economic development and fostering a sense of self-reliance.
